It all began with

It all began with offering 'pay what you want' Spanish lessons to our community in Capilano. But it quickly took off! We're both native Spanish speakers with a passion for teaching, and we love seeing our students progress. We began teaching at the local library, but soon we outgrew the space. Now, we're thrilled to have our own small space where we can share our love of Spanish in quiet and cozy environment with even more people.

We're all about making Spanish learning fun and accessible to everyone in Alberta. We want to help you connect with the Spanish-speaking world and discover the beauty of the language. So, what are you waiting for? Come say hi and let's get started on your Spanish journey!"

This is me, Pedram, and Marina, .

Spanish teacher. DELE examiner. Experienced teacher. Native Spanish speaker.

MARINA. She has been teaching Spanish for 9 years. She is engaging, flexible, and more engaging than me. With a degree in English Teaching, an MA in Education, and another MA in Spanish Modern Language and Literature, she has a solid foundation in language instruction. She is also a certified DELE examiner.

She has taught Spanish at various institutions, including Edmonton Catholic Schools, the University of Alberta, and the University of Nebraska.

She believes in making language learning interactive and relevant to everyday life. She incorporates pop culture, such as music and movies, into her lessons to help students see the practical applications of the language. This approach helps students stay engaged and motivated, and makes the learning process more enjoyable.

PEDRAM. My career path has been far from linear! I began with a passion for Pure Math, competing in math contests and aiming to become a mathematician. However, discovered a new love for languages and pursued translation at the University of Alberta and Editing and Correction at the Universidad Europea de Madrid becoming a certified editor. To further develop my teaching skills, I completed a teacher training course, which gave me the tools to create engaging and effective lessons. I also had the opportunity to study Spanish variations and dialogues at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, which deepened my understanding of the language and its nuances.

Growing up, I was inspired by my father's language institute, where I met amazing professors and heard over 20 languages spoken by 1,000 students. Now, I'm driven to create a similar vibrant community in Edmonton, one that celebrates language and culture. Every day, we're getting closer to making this vision a reality.
